SHETLAND | A CREATIVE RISK.

SHETLAND | A CREATIVE RISK.

when I think of Shetland I think about
the ever cold wind. The secludedness of this island far away from any city. The
long single track winding and roads And the coastline that goes on for miles and miles it’s landscape is like no other with the
cliffs sculpted by rough Wind and seas battering you and every soul on the
island. It’s cold atmosphere spreads and coats the land with a thin blanket of snow
never one to settle before blown away again small paws of sheepdogs leaving
little imprints in its covering. Curious of the cliffside landscape it’s one to be
wondered and one to be explored the exposed edges of rock show off it’s
strength in its rawest form its ever inspiring for photographers and
filmmakers alike. Poets and artists to revel in this islands beauty. Our culture
and creativity stems from the sea and land itself. From boats to knitwear it’s
fuelled by the island. I followed many creative journeys and enjoyed seeing how
they all interpreted it. Making music or telling stories it’s wonderful to hear.
Painting pictures or sketching something it’s wonderful to see. Capturing whatever
they feel represents it. It be in my home, Shetland. Shetland to has inspired me, and I wanted to share that with you
