“Dead Rising” Walkthrough : Books in “Dead Rising”: Part 1

In this segment, I’m going to talk about books.
Now, although most people don’t like books. In the game, they can be very helpful. By
storing certain books in your inventory, it will make it so different weapons will last
longer. It will make it so certain food items give you more health. It will make it so such
as, there’s things in the game like skateboards or bicycles that you can ride. And, it will
make them last longer and be able to allow you to do tricks. So, carrying books can be
very important. The chainsaw I showed you how to get after killing clown, there are
three certain books you can carry to make that last a ridiculous amount of time. That
chainsaw will last you hours before it dies off. And, so I will show you how to find the
books and which ones to use. In the first section of the mall underneath your storage
room, there is a bookstore. It is underneath the restaurant that I showed you where to
get the O.J. at. And, you walk up to the book shelves and there’s the books. You just hit
B to pick it up. And, if it’s a book that will help you can go to the book in your inventory
and hit the use button and it will read the book and it will tell you what the book does.
If the book helps one of your weapons last longer, you will see a little pink icon in
the box in the upper hand corner with your weapon. So, this book will make my chainsaw
last three times longer.
I picked up another book here, that will add another pink dot. So, it makes it last to
the third time longer times the third time longer. So, it’s basically going to last you
a long time already. There are several books in here. Everything from making little kids
toys last longer to making bladed weapons last longer to making food give you more health.
There is one other bookstore. The other bookstore is located near where you fought the clown
in the amusement park section of the store. And, after going to this first bookstore rather
than walking through the courtyard and taking the long way there you can now take the shortcut
through the bathroom.
