Consulting engineers There are several engineering consultancy firms in the Faroes with extensive experience in the construction and maintenance of diverse construction projects throughout the islands. These construction projects span a wide range, including various buildings for private industry, roads and tunnels, public harbour facilities, as well as various other marine engineering projects. Business Consulting In the fields of Administrative Management Services, Economic Management, Project Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Product Development and Translation Services, there are a number of consultants. Moreover, the consultants assist organisations in the development and implementation of Quality Systems such as ISO – 9000. The various consultants provide services to private industry as well as to the government.
Advertising Agencies There are several advertising agencies in the Faroe Islands with vast experience in the special demands of designing and producing various types of brochures, magazines, posters, logos, etc. The advertising agencies also co-operate with their customers in developing strategies to effectively market a company image or message. Auditors The State Authorized Public Accountants in the Faroes are certified by the Danish Registration authorities, and are members of the Danish Institute of State Authorized Public Accountants, thereby complying with European Union quality control and procedures etc. The State Authorized Public Accountant companies all work in close co-operation with, or as a direct part of International Auditing Associations, using the same standards and procedures when practising their business, as are required by the respective International Associations.

Solicitors - Lawyers The Court of the Faroe Islands is part of the Danish judicial system. The Faroe Islands are an independent jurisdiction under the High Court - Eastern Division in Copenhagen. The languages of the court are Faroese and Danish. The Act on Administration of Justice has been especially adapted to Faroese conditions, and in accordance with it all cases may be presented in the first hearing at the Faroese Court. Decisions by the High Court (Eastern Division) in appeal cases, which outside the Faroe Islands would be High Court cases, may be brought before the Danish Supreme Court without special permission from the Danish Ministry of Justice. All solicitors have the right to appear at the Court of the Faroe Islands. Most firms have lawyers who are qualified to appear at the High Court and the Danish Supreme Court.
Insurance According to the Faroese insurance law, which came into force 1 January 1997, only Faroese insurance companies are permitted to insure all types of insurable risks in Faroese legal territory. A Faroese insurance company is defined as a domestic company funded solely by Faroese capital. Currently, there are two Faroese insurance companies and two life insurance company. Tryggingarfelagið Føroyar P/F – The Faroe Insurance Company – is a limited company offering all kinds of insurance both marine and non-marine. P/F Trygd is a limited company offering all kinds of insurance both marine and non-marine.
