S.E.V. is an intermunicipally owned company where all the municipalities in the Faroe Islands are members of the company.

• Normal low voltage is 230V / 400V. Voltage shall not exceed + 6% or fall below -10% of the mentioned voltages.
  

• The frequency is 50 HZ.

• High voltage: 10 kV or 20 kV may, by special agreement, be supplied to larger customers.

Electricity supply and production

Main area: The available electricity supply in the main area is 83,5 MW (excl. 4,1 MW in wind turbines). The current maximum power consumption (2005) stands at 41,6 MW, leaving another 41,9 MW in reserve.

The 12 month production is 223,3 mill. KWh., showing a 1,6 % negative annual growth.

Suðuroy: In Suðuroy the immediate supply is 14,7 MW. The current maximum power consumption (2005) stands at 5,1 MW. Available reserves are therefore 9,6 MW.

The 12 month production is 21,0 mill. KWh., showing a 1,5 % negative annual growth.
