In SamVit we want new ideas, innovation and inventions to nurish so they can grow and become sustainable.

The word SamVit has similar meanings in Faroese as in the other Nordic languages. Also the word Samvit can be found in the classical Indian language Sanskrit.

The interesting part is that the Sanskrit meaning of Samvit is almost identical to the Nordic meaning and is often translated as ‘knowledge potency’. A more detailed explanation of the word is:
 
“Samvit is a Sanskrit word, which refers to the entire range of knowledge, from information to consciousness, awareness and the highest knowledge leading to Self-realization.”

Several of our foreign contacts have commented on this exact meaning of the word and are surprised when they hear that the Faroese and Nordic meaning of the world is similar to the Sanskrit meaning.
