The purpose and mission of the government organisation SamVit – Faroe Islands Enterprise is to advise, inform, market, create networks and drive forward campaigns and development projects to stimulate and support industry/businesses that wish to achieve international competitiveness.

The activities and projects that SamVit engages in usually fall into these five categories:

• Business development (networking, courses, conferences, trade-shows, consultancy, etc.)
• Enterprise and innovation (to coordinate consulting/advice for entrepreneurs and innovators)
• Marketing of Faroese products as well as the Faroe Islands as a travel destination
• Marketing the Faroe Islands to promote investment
• Coordinate procedures and guidelines in the public administration for the benefit of business/industry.
